Accessibility Statement

The A11y in Sci project is committed to providing born accessible materials so that the vast majority of disabled people have immediate digital and intellectual access to our resources.

This website and our digital open educational resources are designed to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA.

If your access needs extend beyond WCAG 2.2, we want to know how we can support your learning. We will appreciate anything you are willing to share about your access needs. You can reach us at info@a11ys.org.

Our Practices

Accessibility is integrated into everything we do. Everyone who works on the A11y in Sci project learns about and enacts numerous accessibility practices including WCAG, Universal Design for Learning, and access intimacy.

Dr. Shaheen requires that all digital materials are accessible irrespective of format (i.e., HTML, Word, PPT, PDF). Additionally, we proactively provide Braille and tactile graphics (where appropriate) for all research publications.

All A11y in Sci digital materials are manually tested for accessibility by at least one native AT user before they are published, and each time they are updated.

This website was developed in collaboration with the digital accessibility professionals at Techopolis, who conducted accessibility QA throughout the development process.
