The A11y in Sci project supports blind and low-vision (BLV) students’ access to high school science classes through teacher education and research. Many of the technologies used in science classes today are inaccessible to BLV students. So, we are teaching preservice and inservice teachers how to create, select, and use accessible technologies. And we are sharing research-based stories about BLV students and their teachers.
The A11y in Sci stories, resources, and research are suited for STEM educators, teachers of BLV students, teacher educators, and others interested in making learning accessible.
Use stories to explore the experiences of BLV students and their teachers as they learn together in technology-mediated classrooms.
Review the A11y in Sci research to learn how we are collecting, analyzing, and sharing students’ and teachers’ stories.
